Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. We do not charge to come out and quote, and there is no obligation to go ahead. You get a fixed written price and you decide from there.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. Every gas engineer at Ashcroft is on the Gas Safe Register (reg. 624185) and carries their ID card. It is the law for gas work, and we are happy to show it on the doorstep.
How fast can you get to an emergency?
We run a 24/7 emergency line and a real person answers it, day or night. For burst pipes and no-heat callouts across our core area we aim to be with you within a couple of hours.
What warranty comes with a new boiler?
Because we are Worcester Bosch accredited installers, a new Worcester boiler comes with up to a 12-year manufacturer guarantee. All of our own workmanship is backed by a 2-year warranty as standard.
Will you match another quote?
If you have a genuine like-for-like written quote that is cheaper, show us and we will match it. We would rather earn your trust than lose a fair job over a few pounds.

A proper local firm, run by people who answer the phone
Ashcroft started in 2009 when Dave Ashcroft swapped a van and a mobile number for a proper local business. Fifteen years on, it is still family-run — Dave heads up the heating side, his daughter Emma runs the bathrooms team, and every engineer who pulls up in an Ashcroft van is on our own books, not a sub-contractor.
We built this firm on a simple idea: turn up when you say you will, charge what you quoted, and treat someone's home the way you would treat your own. That is why most of our work comes from word of mouth across Altrincham, Hale and the Cheshire villages.
We are Gas Safe registered, Worcester Bosch accredited and fully insured — but the thing customers tell us they value most is just that we pick up the phone and do what we said.
